Training

The OLVG is part of the Vereniging Samenwerkende Topklinische opleidingsZiekenhuizen (STZ) (Association of Top Clinical Teaching Hospitals). Members of this association offer a good training environment. They secure and increase the quality of the training and the care. As such the hospitals in this association act as Teaching Hospitals for medical training, the HBO-V Duaal course (diploma-level nursing course involving practical training), and advanced nursing courses and training for supporting medical staff.
Since the beginning of 2003 the OLVG works very closely together with the Academic hospital in Amsterdam (AMC) in the field of training and research. As a result the number of training places for medical students and upcoming consultants has grown considerably. This cooperation also offers other advantages. For instance students can use the various facilities that both hospitals offer, such as the medical library and the very advanced skills labs at OLVG.

Medical Training 
There are medical training possibilities at various levels. Medical students can complete their internship at the OLVG and physicians can train here to become medical consultants.

Nursing Courses 
The OLVG offers a wide range of nursing courses. You can choose the HBO-V Duaal (diploma-level nursing course involving practical training) and various advanced nursing courses.

Training for supporting medical staff 
Are you interested in a training course for a position in supporting medical care? At the OLVG you can train to become for instance a theatre assistant or assistant-anaesthetist, but there are many more possibilities. You will find an overview here.

Training courses and work experience 
Internally, and to a limited extent externally, you can follow the usual training courses and there are various possibilities to do work experience as a school pupil or student at the OLVG.
